Zebra Marble

  • This is Zebra Marble from Utah.  It will work for cabochons, carving, specimen and great for decoration.  It also makes nice tumbled stones but it requires a special technique.

Pipestone

  • RR1b   This is Pipestone, otherwise know as Catlinite, from Pipestone, Minnesota.  As the world's second softest rock, it is makes a great rock for a carving project. Pipestone varies in shades of a brownish red color. 
     
  • Known to be prized by Native Americans for making sacred or ceremonial pipes. Only enrolled Native Americans are allowed to quarry for Pipestone at the Pipestone National Monument to protect from over-mining.
     

  • Pipestone is sold by each select piece. This particular specimen weighs almost 11 pounds.
