Dalmatian Stone, or orbicular Rhyolite, is an igneous rock that was formed by lava flows on the Earth's surface.  The spots or "orbs" probably occurred when molten lava reacted with fragments of rock known as Xenoliths.  These stones are light to dark tan in color with black spots throughout.  The nickname "Dalmatian" was given to this unusual looking mineral because of its resemblance to a Dalmatian dog's spots.

Goldstone is a type of man-made glass with Copper or Copper salts made by a reducing flame.  The most common form of Goldstone give the illusion of being a reddish-brown, although in fact the color comes from the Copper crystals and the glass itself is colorless.  Other variants have an intensely color matrix usually blue or violet, and more rare, green.

C32b  This is a carved Snowflake Obsidian frog.  It measures 1 3/4" in length by 5/8" in height and has a nice Black and White color and neat design. 

Obsidian is a rock which is a type of naturally occurring glass that is produced by volcanoes when felsic lava cools rapidly and freezes without sufficient time for Crystal growth.  It is an extrusive igneous rock.  Because Obsidian lacks Crystal structure, the blade edges can reach almost molecular thinness, leading to the ancient use of arrow heads and the modern use of surgical scalpel blades.

C405b  Here is a very pretty, soft Pink Frog carved for Rose Quartz.  She measures 1 5/8" x 1 5/8" and has a nice polish.  A great collector's item or pocket piece.

Rose Quartz is a type of Quartz which exhibits a pale pink to rose red hue.  The color is usually considered as due to trace amounts of Titanium, Iron or Manganese, in the massive material.  Some Rose Quartz contains microscopic Rutile needles which produce an asterism in transmitted light.

C408b  This is a Frog carved from Hematite.  It measures 1 5/8" x 1 5/8" and has a nice shiny, polished finish.  A very cute frog to keep for your collection or try wire wrapping him for a new look to your jewelry.

Hematite is a mineral form of Iron oxide.  It is a very common material that has a black to steel to silver-grey color and may also appear reddish brown.  Hematite is a heavy metal and when it is polished it is consider to many to be of gemstone quality.  It is very popular in jewelry and Native American art.

Lapis is a stone with a long tradition of being considered a gem.  It is usually deep blue in color and is opaque.  It is a rock and not a mineral as it is made up from various other minerals.  The main component is Lazurite which is a Feldspar Silicate.  Lapis may also contain Calcite, Sodalite and Pyrite.  It is found worldwide.

Jade, or Jadeite, is a Silicate mineral made from a Sodium and Aluminum mix that is usually found in igneous and/or metamorphic rocks.  Jade is as hard as Quartz, is exceptionally tough, beautifully colored and can be delicately shaped or carved.

Opalite is a trade name for a man-made precious opal imitation.  It is usually made of glass or resin.  Man-made or not, it is definitely a beautiful "gem stone" and one of my personal favorites.

C37b  This is a nice carved Frog made from Malachite.  It measures 2" in length by 3/4" in height. He has a great Green color and a really neat design.  Similar to like item.

Malachite is a Copper Carbonate mineral.  It most often forms botryoidal, fibrous or stalagmitic masses.  It is often the result of the weathering of Copper Ores and is usually found with Azurite, Goethite and Calcite.  It has a vibrant green color and each specimen has its own unique design.  Although Malachite is consider toxic, when ingested,  in the rough, natural form, it is safe to handle in its polished state.

C407b   Here is a set of 5 Owl mini gemstone carvings.  This set has 5 Owls in gemstones of Green Aventurine, Blue Goldstone, Hematite, Fancy Red Jasper and Sodalite.  Each measures 1/2" x 1" and has a nice polish.  These little guys are super cute and very detailed.  Unfortunately there is NO additional choices other than what is listed.

4C2b  This is a nice carved Dog made from Malachite. It measures 1 1/8" wide by 1 7/8" high. This Dog has a nice color, striping and polish.  He is looking at you and wants you to take him home with you.  A unique gift for that hard to buy for person.

C38b   This is a smaller Rose Quartz Frog on a Green Aventurine Lily Pad.  It measures 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" resting on a 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" Lily Pad.  A nice addition to any collection.

Aventurine is a form of Quartz that is characterized by its translucent and mineral inclusions that give it a shimmering or glistening effect called "aventurescence".  The most common color is green but it may also be orange, brown, yellow, blue or grey.

C400b   This is a beautiful, Red Fancy Jasper Buffalo carving.  He measures 1 5/8" in width and 1 1/8" in height.  It has a very nice polish and design.  A great pocket piece for you or someone special.

Jasper is an opaque, impure variety of Quartz that is usually red, yellow or brown in color.  Jasper can appear as an opaque rock with shades of red due to mineral impurities.  Patterns can arise from the formation process and flow patterns in the sediment or volcanic ash that was saturated with silica which formed the banding or swirling designs in the rock.

C403c  Here is a very nice, very pretty, larger Chinese Marble Turtle.  She measures 5 3/4" in length and 3" in height and has a nice shiny polish.  She weighs over 1 lb. 9 ozs.  A very nice larger carving for your collection.

Marble is a metamorphic rock consisting of Limestone but composed mostly of Calcite.  It is used extensively for sculpture, building materials and has many decorative uses.  The pure white Marble is probably the most common form known, but the characteristic swirls and veins of many colored Marble varieties are usually due to various mineral impurities such as Clay, Silt, Sand, Iron Oxides or Chert.

4C4C  This is a pretty, smaller Blue Quartz Elephant.  It measures 1 5/8" in length and 1 1/4" in height.  The Elephant has a great soft, Blue color and nice polish.  A great addition to your collection.

Blue Quartz, or Dumorturite, is a blue variety of Quartz.  It owes its color to the microscopic inclusions of mineral impurities which distinguish this mineral from other very similar minerals such as Aventurine or other color forms of Quartz.  It is found world wide and can be in various shades of blue with black and/or white accents.

CC39b   This is an Opalite Frog.  It measures 2" x 1" and has a nice polish.  He is very cute and it is understood in some cultures to keep a Frog close as they bring good luck.
