Some of the stones that may be included in the mix is Carnelian, Picture Jasper,
Snowflake Obsidian, Tiger-Eye, Sodalite, Unakite, Crystal Quartz, Rose Quartz,
Dalmatian Stone and others. Item
will be similar to the picture.
Note: These range in size from approximately 3/4" to 1 1/4" in
size and they will average 35 (+ or - a few) polished gemstones per pound.

These are assorted small size tumble polished gemstones. They

This is 5 pieces of Pyrite measuring in size approximately 1 1/4" +

Gold. Pyrite is actually an iron mineral. This is nice quality, very

Here is some very nice, larger pieces
of Peacock Copper Ore. Each piece will measures approximately 1" to 2"
in size with the total approximate weight of 1/2 lb. We offer a good
variety of color, size and design. Unfortunately, there is NO choice in
specimens as we bag the pieces up straight from the box. The set would
make a great educational tool for scouts or schools. Items will be
similar to items in photo. You will receive three (3) pieces of
our choosing.
Peacock Copper Ore is a Copper Iron mineral that is closely related
to Bornite and Chalcopyrite. Although it is sometimes confused with
Pyrite, Peacock Copper is a mixture of Copper and Iron whereas Pyrite is
an Iron derivative.

These are Fossil Fish Knightia from the Eocene Age from the
Green River Formation, Lincoln County, Wyoming.
The picture at the right is representative of the
fish you will receive. These specimen's are approximately 2 1/2"
x 3". This fossil fish lived some 50 million years ago. They are found in
a light colored Limestone.

Here is a really neat activity for kids. This is a Bubble Rock.
It is a Limestone mineral that is found in Western Utah. This kit provides
an indoor rock garden any time throughout the year. When White or Clear
vinegar is added, tiny White Aragonite crystals appear and gradually place
themselves to form clusters of pure White blossoms. The process can
take 2-3 weeks and the directions are on the back of the package. I
did this project with my 7 year old son and he just loved it.

1K012b This is something new to The Rock Shed! These
pendants are pieces of a Meteorite that was found in Argentina. These pendants measure
approximately
1/2" in width by 1/2" to an 1" in height. The bail size is
approximately
2mm. There is no choice but we do promise a good selection. These are
definitely conversation pieces, you can put them on a chain
and have a lovely necklace or attach it to a keychain. These will go
quickly so get one while you can! Similar
to like item
The Campo Del Cielo Iron Meteorite is from Gran Chaco Gualamba,
Argentina. These Campo meteorites were first found in 1576. It probably
impacted the earth nearly 6000 years ago leaving an extensive strewn field
and more than 12 craters. The Campo Del Cielo Meteorites are a Coarse
Octahedrite, Type 1A, (3mm crystal). They consist of an average
composition of 92% Iron, 6% Nickel and other rare minerals with silicate
inclusions. |
