This is a very pretty, beautifully colored Poly-Chrome Jasper
egg with a very interesting pattern. It measures 2 1/4" x 1 5/8"
with a nice polish. This material is from Madagascar. This is
something different for the egg collector. Jasper, or spotted stone, is
an opaque, impure variety of Quartz that is usually red, yellow or brown in
color. Picture Jaspers simultaneously exhibit several variants such
as banding, flow patterns, dendrites or color variations. This results
in what appears to be scenes or images in a cut section of the Jasper.

This is a pretty egg made from Petrified Wood from Madagascar. It measures
2 3/8" x 1 3/4 and has a nice polish. This egg has a great mix of Earth
tone colors. Close observation will reveal a small fill area on the
bottom of the egg. Although this minor flaw exists, it does not take
from the overall appearance of the and still makes an excellent addition to
your collection. Petrified Wood is a type of a fossil as it consists
of fossil wood where all the organic materials have been replaced with minerals
while retaining the original structure of the wood. These minerals are
most often Silicates such as Quartz, Manganese, Iron and Copper, in the water
or mud during the petrification process give Petrified Wood a variety of color
ranges: black - Carbon; green/blue - Copper; red/brown/yellow - Iron.
Petrified Wood can preserve the original structure of the wood in all its
detail all the way down to the microscopic level. Structures such as
tree rings and the various tissues are often observed features. Although
Petrified Wood can be found worldwide, it is rather rare in larger quantities
and at times can be difficult to obtain by the average collector.

This is a quite interesting, smaller Stromatolite egg.
It measures 2" high and 1 1/2" at its widest part. It has a nice polish
with nice contrasting lines. This material is from Peru. Something
different for the collector! Stromatolites are commonly thought to
have been formed by the trapping, binding, and cementation of sedimentary
grains by microorganisms, especially blue-green algae but very few actually
contain fossilized microbes.
