This is a pretty gemstone Heart carved from Picasso Marble. It
measures 2" x 2"x 1/2" and has a nice hand-polish. The Heart has a
nice soft Orange color with White accents. Marble is a metamorphic rock
consisting of Limestone but composed mostly of Calcite. It is used
extensively for sculpture, building materials and has many decorative uses.
The pure white Marble is probably the most common form known, but the characteristic
swirls and veins of many colored Marble varieties are usually due to various
mineral impurities such as Clay, Silt, Sand, Iron Oxides or Chert.

Marble. It measures nearly 2" x 2 1/4"x 3/4". This material
is from Utah. A very nice Black and White Heart for that special person.

The Heart measures 1 1/2" x 1 3/4"x 1" and has a nice polish. Something

to like item. Unakite is an altered Granite composed of pink Feldspar,
green Epidote and clear Quartz. It exists in various shades of green
and pink and is usually mottled in appearance. Good quality Unakite
is considered a semiprecious stone and will take a good polish and is often
used in jewelry and other lapidary work such as eggs, spheres and carvings.

Here is a unique find!! This is a larger, hand carved Pyrite Heart.
It measures 2 1/4" x 2" x 1" and has a nice hand polish. The heavy-weight
Heart has a sparkly, shiny finish on top of a natural, crystal cavity-like
texture. Pyrite, or Iron Pyrite, is an Iron sulfide with isometric Crystals
that usually appear as cubes. It is brittle and can break or powder
easily. Its metallic luster and brass yellow hue have earned it the
nickname of "fool's gold" due to many miners mistaken it for the real thing.
Ironically, small quantities of actual gold are sometimes found in Pyrite.
It is the most common of the sulfide minerals and is usually found with
other sulfides or oxides in Quartz veins, sedimentary or metamorphic rocks.

Utah Septarian. It measures 2 1/4" x 2 1/4"x 1/2". Something different

also know as a type of Concretion, is a volume of sedimentary rock in which
a mineral cement fills the porosity. Concretions are often ovoid or
spherical in shape. They form within layers of sedimentary strata
that has already been deposited. It is composed of a Carbonate mineral
such as Calcite, a Silica such as Chert, Flint or Jasper or an Iron Oxide
such as Goethite or Hematite. It is commonly found in Shale, Siltstones
and Sandstones.

common mineral in the Earth's continental crust. It is mainly composed
of Silica or Silica based minerals. Although Quartz is known by a
variety of names, the most important distinction between types of Quartz
is that of macro-crystalline, individual crystals visible to the unaided
eye, and micro-crystalline, where aggregates of crystals are only visible
under high magnification. There are many forms of Quartz including
Chalcedony, Amethyst, Citrine, and Carnelian which are results of mineral
impurities or heat treatments.

variety of Quartz that is usually red, yellow or brown in color. Picture
Jaspers simultaneously exhibit several variants such as banding, flow patterns,
dendrites or color variations. This results in what appears to be
scenes or images in a cut section of the Jasper.

to like item. Agates mostly occur as nodules in volcanic rocks
or waters containing silica in solution possibly derived from the decomposition
of silicates in the lava. The siliceous matter is deposited in regular
layers resulting in the banded or striped formation.
