Here is an interesting find!! This is a very nice Birds Eye Rhyolite
heart. It measures nearly 3 3/4" wide x 3 1/2" tall x 1 1/4" and has been hand polished,
therefore close observation would reveal some smaller flatter areas.
This material has a softer composition so it will not hold a shiny, polished
finish. A good catch for the heart collector.

Rhyolite is an igneous, volcanic rock that is composed of Felsic, or
Silicate minerals such as Silica, Aluminum, Sodium and Potassium.
The material is similar to that of Granite, Pumice and Obsidian but due
to the cooling process when formed, Rhyolite did not form any crystals,
thus changing the texture of the material.

This is a pretty, above average quality, gemstone heart carved from
Orange Calcite. This Heart measures 4" x 4"x 1" and has a nice polish.

Calcite is a Carbonate mineral that is most widely distributed
on the Earth's surface. It is a common constituent of sedimentary
rocks with Limestone in particular. A Calcite formation can take on
many different shapes and sizes which is dependent on the location,
ground water occurrence and temperature. Calcite is usually white or
colorless but can be gray, red, yellow, green, blue, violet, brown or
black. The deeper the color is usually indicative of the definitive
impurities from the earth or water. |

Sodalite is a rich royal
blue mineral enjoyed as an ornamental stone. Although massive
samples are opaque, Crystals are usually transparent to translucent.
It is very similar to Lapis but with out the Pyrite Crystals and
distinguishable color differences. It makes great jewelry,
cabochons an beads.

This is a pretty gemstone Heart carved from Rose Quartz.
It measures over nearly 3" in length, 1 1/2" in width and 2 1/2" in height
and has a nice polish. There is only one (1) available.
Rose Quartz
is a type of Quartz which exhibits a pale pink to rose red hue. The
color is usually considered as due to trace amounts of Titanium, Iron or Manganese,
in the massive material. Some Rose Quartz contains microscopic Rutile
needles which produce an asterism in transmitted light.

Agate. It measures 1 3/4" x 1 3/4"x 3/8" and has a nice
polish.
There is only one (1) available.
Agates mostly occur as nodules in volcanic rocks or waters
containing silica in solution possibly derived from the decomposition
of silicates in the lava. The siliceous matter is deposited in
regular layers resulting in the banded or striped formation.

This is a very nice, above average Ocean Jasper heart from Madagascar.
It measures 1 3/4" x 1 7/8" x 1" and has a nice polish. The heart
has a deep Green color with White accents.

This material is a new find from Madagascar. The deposit formed as
a rhyolite flow but has been completely silicified. The Rhyolitic eyes
or orbs come in an astonishing array of colors and color combinations.
The back ground can be white, pink, green, red, or yellow. Botryoidal
formations as well as white and deep green druzy are also common. This
deposit has been discovered at the edge of the ocean. It can only be seen
and collected at low tide. The area has no road so the material must be
transported to civilization by boat. This material is fast becoming
a rarity in the Jasper ocean fields, so get one while it is still available.

This is a pretty gemstone heart carved from Amazonite. It measures
2 1/4" x 2 1/8" x 1 1/8" and has a nice polish. The heart has a
light Turquoise color with tiny White sparkly accents. A true beauty.

Amazonite is a green variety of Feldspar. The name is taken
from that of the Amazon River, from which certain green stones were formerly
obtained, but it is doubtful whether green Feldspar occurs in the Amazon
area. It is a mineral of limited occurrence but is often associated
with smoky Quartz, Orthoclase and Albite in a coarse Granite or Pegmatite.
Because of its bright green color when polished, Amazonite is sometimes
cut and used as a gemstone, although it is easily fractured.
